InterSolution is Belgium’s most important trade show for the solar industry professionals, held annually at the Flanders Expo in Ghent. The 2023 edition of the fair was an excellent opportunity for the manufacturers of modules, inverters, and batteries, as well as the mounting and software companies to showcase their products and services, and to network with potential partners and customers within the Benelux area and beyond.

The huge success of the fair this year proves that the Belgian solar market is on the upswing again. More than 5,800 professionals attended InterSolution 2023, more than twice as many as last year. This time, leading manufacturers as well as installers, plumbers, electricians, contractors, roofers, and architects came together for the latest developments in the field of solar modules and energy storage, mounting systems and control technologies, as well as software and monitoring.

LG energy Solution, as one of the largest battery makers in the world, visited InterSolution again this year to meet with business partners in the region, provide valuable insights on the latest trends and developments in the industry, as well as use the opportunity to connect with customers and partners and learn about the changing requirements within the market. As the most prominent solar trade show in Benelux, InterSolution hosts the vast majority of its attendees from the area with 82% from Belgium this year and 16% from the Netherlands.

LG Energy Solution’s premium home battery storage system FLEX was displayed at the exhibition booth of Krannich Solar, attracting a wide range of visitors looking for the latest product options and innovations. Krannich Solar is a leading global distributor of photovoltaic supplies and systems, and a key business partner of LG Energy Solution across the European market.

Strong interest in energy-efficient batteries at InterSolution 2023

One of the key insights we gained from the trade fair was the persistently large demand for high-quality, efficient batteries for solar energy systems. It is already evident that the Benelux market will be among the next growth markets in Europe. As the use of solar energy continues to increase across the continent, the demand for reliable, long-lasting batteries to store the energy generated by solar panels is growing. Attendees of the solar trade show shared a strong interest for batteries that can store more energy, last longer, and be more efficient in terms of cost and performance.

Another insight from the fair was the ever-increasing focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility in the solar energy sector. Companies are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint and to make their operations more eco-friendly. Another key development among the manufacturers is the use of clever solutions to optimize installation times. The need for skilled workers to assemble PV modules, inverters and energy storage systems is higher than ever, but the schedules of the skilled professionals are quite full. To counter this situation, the leading manufacturers in the industry are all working on solutions that use smart concepts to shorten installation time for installers, and simplify the handling while taking local conditions and space limitations into account.

Natec partner event in Ghent

In combination with our visit to Intersolution 2023 in Ghent, we were invited by our valued distribution partner “Natec” to be part of this year’s partner event. The event celebrated the 10th anniversary of the company, which has managed to grow to one of the leading and widely known solar distributors in the whole Benelux area. This decade-long success was celebrated with all attending partners who have contributed to Natec’s rapid growth through mutually beneficial business partnerships.

Attending Natec’s partner event provided an extra opportunity to network, build new business relationships, and further deepen our existing ones. The superbly organized event featured a variety of activities, great food and insightful business conversations with industry participants, product developers and sales experts from various Natec partners.
