Photovoltaic system operators that once dreamed of using self-generated energy to charge their electric car can now make that dream a reality with a new opportunity arising – at least if they reside in Baden-Württemberg. As part of the “State Initiative III Market Growth Electromobility BW”, the BW-e-Solar voucher has been relaunched as an added incentive for switching to electromobility.
As much as €1,000 per electric vehicle (EV)
A subsidy of up to €1,000 is now available to help individuals with the maintenance and operating costs of newly registered fully electric vehicles equipped with battery or fuel cell drives, as long as the vehicle is registered and used primarily in Baden-Württemberg. Furthermore, the additional purchase of a wallbox can also be supported – the only precondition being that it must be supplied directly from the photovoltaic system. The subsidy per wallbox/vehicle can reach up to €500.
Subsidies limited to 160 kW and 100 vehicles per year.
To be eligible for funding one must first satisfy the following requirements: The EV must be equal to or less than 160 kW and belong to one of the following vehicle classes: 1.) passenger car, 2.) four-wheeled (light) motor vehicle, 3.) light commercial vehicle up to 3.5 t (EC vehicle classes L6e and L7e, M1 and N1). Not only private owners, but companies, institutions, corporations and freelancers can also apply for financial support, although a funding limit of 100 vehicles per year applies. Finally, subsidized vehicles must have been in use for at least three years – also applies to wallbox funding. Applications can be submitted as early as December. Older vehicles already registered are not eligible.
